Life is beautiful, but aging is inevitable; neck wrinkles testify to this. We wish we can maintain the handsomeness and beauty we had when we were young and in our prime – those days were excellent and blissful. We are still beautiful and handsome, but the skin is starting to react to the times.
As we mark each birthday, the skin becomes less elastic and more fragile. This is due to the drop in the production of collagen and elastin – these are two proteins which are essential to the appearance and structure. Thus, the skin weakens, and wrinkles are formed in some parts of the skin. It is not impossible that some part of the skin might be wrinkled while others are smooth and fresh. This is the case with neck wrinkles.
Neck wrinkles appear majorly as a result of aging, but some factors cause it. You would agree that the neck is mostly neglected when washing the face or in the application of sunscreen. Many things that we may hold as a habit can also lead to neck wrinkles. Factors, which we can control also cause neck wrinkles. However, you can make 60 the new 30 by being free from neck wrinkles; effective ways to combat it are given below.
Causes of Neck Wrinkles
The first step in solving a problem entails knowing its cause. I have discovered from my research that lots of factors are responsible for neck wrinkles. These could be by human factors or non-human factors. These will be discussed below.
Age: this is the primary cause. As one grows older, there is a reduction in the production of collagen and elastin – these are two protein nutrients which are essential and needed for our skin appearance and structure. More, aging makes the skin less elastic and more fragile. In the skin of young people, there is a constant production of natural protective oils for the skin. However, with old age, the production decreases and this reacts on the skin.
More, the fat under the skin diminishes with old age, and the once firm skin becomes saggy and loose.
Oversight: it is mostly the case that when we wash the face, apply moisturizers, or apply some sunscreen, we neglect the neck. However, the effect does not appear immediately. The reality of the situation is that the skin around the neck is thinner and much tender than the face. It also contains fewer oil glands than the face. Thus, the skin becomes dry and loses its flexibility with time.
The effect of sunlight: we go out on bright days during the summer with lighter clothing, we go to the beach, and we also do a lot of fun stuffs outdoor. However, we often do less to protect ourselves from the effect of ultraviolet light from the sun. The skin around the neck is thinner and has fewer oil glands which make it dry and slow to heal from sun damage.
More, exposure to ultraviolet lights speeds up aging of the skin by breaking down the skin’s collagen and elastin which are connective tissues that keep the skin looking young and plump. With time, the skin around the neck loses its firmness and becomes wrinkled.
Sleeping on the side: sleep is meant to help you relax your body and refresh yourself. However, your sleeping habit can cause the skin around your neck to be wrinkled. This is when you sleep with your face and your neck pressed against the pillow. This can contribute to facial and neck wrinkles. What happens is that each time you strain a facial muscle, a groove forms beneath the surface of the skin. With aging, the skin loses its flexibility, and it is no longer able to pull back to its original form. This eventually makes the lines a permanent feature on the skin.
Smoking: this affects your skin negatively. It accelerates the aging process of your skin and causes premature aging. These result in skin wrinkles, and with time, the lines deepen. Smoking also causes skin dehydration. With the skin lacking adequate liquid nutrients, the standard cell processes that keep the healthy skin slowdown. Nicotine also causes the constriction of the blood vessels in the outermost layers of the skin. This decreases blood flow and deprives the skin of oxygen and essential nutrients.
How to Clear Wrinkles from your Neck
Fortunately, you can look young again. Neck wrinkles are not impossible to clear. Some practical ways have been outlined in my research.
Use Moisturizers: your skin requires much of vitamins C, E, and A to be smooth and wrinkle-free. These will return smoothness and clear the wrinkles off the skin. Getting these nutrients in food and liquids may be stressful. However, these have been supplied in some effective skin moisturizers. One of such which mainly works for neck wrinkles is Premium Neck Cream which contains vitamins C&E, hyaluronic acid, and breakthrough anti-aging complexes to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
Use Anti-ageing Creams: just as the name implies, anti-aging creams work to reduce the aging effect on the skin. An aging effect is neck wrinkles. These creams increase the production of collagen and elastin to help with the firmness and elasticity of the skin. They also work to remove dead skin cells which block sweat pores and prohibit the free flow of skin oil. This affects the skin as dryness start to appear on the skin. Neck wrinkles are usually a result of cumulative activities that negatively impact our skin.
One effective anti-aging cream is Retinol Moisturizer Anti Aging Night Face Cream – Face & Neck Wrinkle Lotion. This cream reduces the appearance of wrinkles. It also works for dark circles, fine lines, and acne.
Watch Your Diet: you need essential nutrients in your meals to help you prevent aging or even reduce it. Ensure that you take food rich in vitamins C, E, and A, minerals, and make lots of liquids. Though the creams stated above contain these nutrients, it is, however, vital that you have these in your daily meals. The American Academy of Dermatology noted that from research findings diet containing lots of sugar or other refined carbohydrates can accelerate aging.
You can get fruits and vegetables as they are excellent sources of these nutrients. You should also take water regularly as that is the basic moisturizer your body needs. Nutritionists highly recommend that two glasses of water should be taken first thing in the morning. Take about 8 – 10 glasses throughout the day as it is profoundly good for your skin.
Multivitamins are also very helpful. If you take one daily, it can cover for the deficiency in your meals.
Wear Protective Outdoor Clothes under the Sun: wide-brimmed hats are not just for cowboy fashion statements, they are initially worn for protection under the sun. Wearing them can protect your face and neck from ultraviolet lights. Apply sunscreen to your neck also when you are going out. Your neck equally needs protection from the neck. Turtle necks are also protective of your neck but wear those with light cotton during hot weather to be comfortable.
In conclusion, we can’t always be too careful, and when some reactions occur, we should be able to recover. Neck wrinkles would normally happen due to aging but don’t get trapped in an old body, make yourself young again.
